What kind of iPhone do you have? For example: iPhone 13, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone SE.

The number you type in to unlock your phone. Usually 4 or 6 digits. Write it exactly as you enter it every day.

Some people swipe a pattern instead of typing a number. If that's you, describe it in a way only YOU would understand — like "Z shape" or "big L bottom left."

Face ID uses your face. Touch ID uses your fingerprint. Your phone still has a passcode as a backup — that's what you write on the card.

The email you check most often — could be Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, or anything else. Write both the address AND the password.

Only fill this in if you have a second email you check regularly. Many people only have one — skip it if that's you.

Think of iCloud as Apple's giant invisible filing cabinet in the sky. It automatically stores your photos, contacts, messages, and apps — so if your phone is ever lost, broken, or replaced, everything comes right back.

Your Apple ID is your key to everything Apple — the App Store, iCloud, FaceTime, and iMessage. It's usually your email address.

SSID is just the NAME of your WiFi network — what you see when you go to connect at home.

The password someone needs to connect to your home WiFi. Also on that router sticker. Write it here so when your grandkids ask — you actually know it. 😄

Internet Provider — who you pay for home WiFi. Examples: Spectrum, Xfinity, AT&T Fiber. Separate bill from your phone.

Phone Carrier — who you pay for cell service. Examples: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile. Different section of your card.

The number you call when your home internet goes out. Write it here so you're not Googling it when you have no internet. 😄

The person you trust most to help if something goes wrong — a daughter, son, grandchild, neighbor, or close friend. Write their name, email, and phone number.

Your account number and PIN are how your carrier identifies your account. You'll need these if you ever switch carriers, add a line, or verify your identity when calling customer service.

Device insurance covers your phone if it's lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged. You might have it through your carrier or through AppleCare+.

The number you call to file a claim if your phone is lost, stolen, or broken. Have it written down before you need it — like when your phone just went swimming in the toilet. 😄

Your phone's unique fingerprint — a 15-digit number that belongs to your phone and ONLY your phone. If your phone is ever lost or stolen, your carrier can use this to track or block it.

If you ever switch phone companies and want to keep your same number — you need your Account Number AND your Port PIN. You MUST call your current carrier and ask for these BEFORE you start switching.

Lightning — the smaller oval shaped connector. Used on iPhones up through iPhone 14.

USB-C — the small rounded rectangle. Used on iPhone 15 and all newer models.

Your photos are probably the most irreplaceable thing on your phone. Backing them up means if your phone is ever lost, stolen, or replaced — every photo comes back automatically.

Plug your phone in to charge, stay on WiFi, and leave it. Could take a few minutes or a few hours depending on how many photos you have.

Siri is Apple's voice assistant and it's already on your iPhone — no download needed. It appears as a colorful wave when you activate it. It connects directly to your phone, calendar, contacts, and apps.

Say "Hey Siri" out loud or press and hold the side button on your iPhone.

Google Gemini is Google's AI assistant and it works on iPhone too. It's excellent for searching the web, answering detailed questions, and helping you write emails. Think of it as a very smart search engine you can have a conversation with.

Alexa is Amazon's assistant — you probably know the blue ring on Amazon Echo devices. Alexa also lives on your iPhone via a free app. Control your smart home, check Amazon orders, set reminders, and more.

ChatGPT is one of the most popular AI assistants in the world. It's excellent at explaining things in plain language, helping you write emails or letters, and answering complex questions with detailed answers.

Claude is made by Anthropic and is known for being especially thoughtful and thorough. It's great for explaining complicated things simply, helping you think through decisions, and having nuanced conversations. If you want an AI that really takes time to understand your question — Claude is worth trying.
